LEAN TRANSFORMATION AT TEST LABORATORY

The Problem

A major player in the Aerospace, Defense, and Nuclear testing industry was purchased by a private equity group. They immediately bought their largest competitor. The private equity owners needed the portco to seize value by streamlining operations and reducing costs. They are under NADCAP, ITAR, A2LA, and NRC governance. They called Advanced Process Optimization for Lean Transformation consulting and facilitation.

Our Approach

Advanced Process Optimization, Inc. was selected for our expertise in Lean Manufacturing Transformations. We had worked with the original company in the past for tactical Lean 5S deployments. We continued with our momentum and increased the scope to Kaikaku level transformation.

The Results

We conducted massive lean transformations at their key locations across the US including one in Huntsville, Alabama that got the attention of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) in a good way. We also made radical transformative improvements using 5S + Safety, Lean 6S, Visual Workplace, Daily Management Boards, Metric Development and Deployment, Strategy Mapping and more. The transformation was a total success!
